Mariana Ayamel, born in the Ivory Coast (West Africa) - and grew up in Montgomery County, MD. Her passion and drive for hair developed from the late and great Angela L. Johnson. Angela was not only her cosmetology teacher, but a second mother and mentor to her.
After being refused placement into the cosmetology program in 2012 and being told "Cosmetology will not take you anywhere in life." She successfully completed the three (3) year program in two years. Also, obtaining a cosmetology license on her first attempt. While perfecting her craft with clients and continuing within her education, she became a Senior Cosmetologist in 2018.
With the ultimate goal of being a Cosmetology Instructor, that dream became a reality in 2019; she is currently a Cosmetology Instructor within the District of Columbia Public School System for both high school students and adults. As an instructor, she truly enjoys being able to bestow the years of knowledge and technique into these future stylists while also sharing the love and zeal for this industry.
Outside of the classroom, she enjoys being behind the chair, beautifying her clients while helping them maintain healthy hair while empowering men and women to feel good about themselves.
